Chelsea Close In Signing Timo Werner As Liverpool Pulled Out of The Race.

Liverpool FC have recently  pulled out of the race to sign Werner despite the Premier League leaders being linked with the German striker as Chelsea are close in signing Timo Werner’s(£54million transfer).

Timo Werner looks set to become the club's highest earner with a deal that reportedly rises year-on-year to £170,000-a-week plus bonuses.

The RB Leipzig star has scored 25 times in 29 games in the Bundesliga this season to continue his prolific form for the German club, including a strike in the 4-2 win over Koln last weekend.

Werner has netted 92 goals in 152 appearances in all competition during his four-season stint at RB Leipzig after his move from Stuttgart back in the 2016 summer transfer window.

The club director of the RB Leipzig, Oliver Mintzlaff has made it clear that there is no formal agreement in place that will see Chelsea signing him this summer. He reportedly said, “we haven’t had an exchange yet.”
The striker will sign a five-year contract with wages that increase annually after Frank Lampard made it clear he is ready to meet the German's release clause.
