The General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God celebrated his wife yesterday as he posts her on his different social media accounts.

But this has not gone well with some Nigerians who said that the way the pastor celebrated his wife is wrong and have since then have started attacking the pastor.

Pastor Adeboye posted on Twitter “Today is my wife’s birthday and there are lessons that women, especially so many young brides can learn from her. She is a powerful woman, I know that... The husband is the head of the wife.

No matter how educated or successful you are, your husband is your head and you must regard him as such at all times….. Busy as she is, she still cooks my meals and serves me herself…. My wife still trims my nails for me…

Make up for your husband's weaknesses, celebrate his success, be his number one cheerleader. I wish my lovely wife a happy birthday.”

A twitter user @d_issue replied to the tweet “I read the thread and came with a conclusion that there is no affection from this man for his wife, he just sees her as a helping figure whose purpose in his life is to fulfill his purpose.

Maybe it’s or not her purpose, this shouldn’t be the content of your words claiming to celebrate her.”@Labibahbello replied to the thread “Sir this sounds one-sided on her part. As she supports you like this, going so far as to cancel her plans on your request, do you do the same for her…..”

Another twitter user said @debolaadebanjo “Rules, rules, rules and more rules for women! Wish you and your loving wife a happy birthday and just go sir, you and your assistant who tweeted this inclusive”.Every time!!! naso cook, clean, and take care of your man. Rubbish, she added.

Normal people: happy birthday love, wishing you long life and prosperity. Nigerian man: I’m your head, you cut my nails because I’m your head, you cannot be my head, happy birthday@teelind3 tweeted.

@soniaryde tweeted saying “Your wife is 72!!! and she still cooks and serves meals. Is that not wickedness? At 72, when old people are supposed to be doing nothing… I mean even Jesus Christ told Martha (who would have been in the “young ladies” bracket) to go to rest.

After several outburst from different Twitter user, some Nigerians were quick to defend the pastor like @toluteezzy who said “You can't keep a 5-month relationship but you are insulting Pastor Adeboye that’s knee-deep in a 52-year marriage and telling him what he is supposed to be doing in his home.

@shalomfrancis tweeted “ I just read the birthday message and I don’t see anything wrong with what he said... In summary, he was actually trying to say his wife is supportive and submissive.

“It's really funny how unmarried people know better than Pastor Adeboye who has been happily married for over 50 years. He’s giving you expo to a successful marriage and instead of taking notes you are claiming woke.”

Pastor Adeboye is not Kuku setting standard for anyone, he’s only expressing how submissive his wife has been these past few years.”
